Notes:  John W. McHorse is listed in Texas Revolution rolls as born in 1812 in
Alabama, enlisted in Capt. Arnold's company 3/6/1836 until 6/6/1836. He is
listed in the 1850 US Census 15th Div. Fayette Co. Alabama. Also Elizabeth,
Rebecca,Delitha & James.  Clark Co. Arkansas Deed Records Book H p. 238-239 show
John W. McHorse purchasing land on 9/5/1853. Clark Co. Arkansas Marriage Record
Book C p. 373 show John W. McHorse ordained by New Home Baptist Church, Clark
Co. AR on 7/8/1858.  State Land Office Tract Books book 68 show John W. McHorse
purchased land with Military Service Warrant #45086 & 44995 in Sevier Co.
Arkansas on 5/11/1857, 12/15/1857 and 01/16/1859. Pleasant Hill (McHorse)
Missionary Baptist Church, Provo, Arkansas show John W. chosen pastor on
10/25/1858. Also, in June 1861 J.W. & Rutha Jane McHorse joined by letter.
2/16/1864 J.W. & Sister Jane McHorse called for letter of dismissal.  Sevier Co.
Court Records Book E p 535 show John W. appointed commissioner of relief of
families of Confederate soldier for Red Colony Township, Sevier Co. AR.
4/19/1863.  On 10/29/1863 John W. resigned as commissioner of relief. 1860 US
Census, Jefferson Twp, Sevier Co. AR show J.W. Baptist minister, Elizabeth, D.A,
R.C, William, Isaac, & John.  1870 US Census, Milam Co. Texas shows John W.,
Rutha Jane, William, Isaac, John, Thomas, Mary Ellen, Elonzo David & Roda
(Rhoda) C. The 1870 US Census Prec. 6 Williamson Co. Texas shows J.W., R.J.,
Mary E., E.D., S.M. & J.C.  John W. McHorse died 1/19/1897 and is buried in the
State Cemetery, Austin, Texas with honor for his service during the Texas
Revolution.
